Description

Main Uses
AMlong 2.5 Tablet is mainly used to:

  • Control high blood pressure (hypertension)

  • Prevent chest pain (angina)

  • Protect the heart from long-term complications such as heart attack and stroke

By lowering blood pressure, it helps your heart pump more easily and improves blood flow throughout the body.

How It Works:

  • Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker.

  • It relaxes and widens blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood and reducing strain on the heart.

  • This leads to lower blood pressure, better oxygen supply to the heart, and prevention of chest pain episodes.

Dosage:

  • Usually taken once daily, preferably at the same time each day.

  • The dose is decided by your doctor based on your blood pressure readings and condition.

  • Do not stop suddenly, as it may cause a sudden rise in blood pressure.

How to Use:

  • Take the tablet by mouth with water, with or without food.

  • Swallow it whole — do not crush or chew.

  • Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.

Precautions:

  • Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, heart failure, or low blood pressure.

  • Avoid alcohol, as it may enhance dizziness or fainting.

  • Be careful while driving or standing up suddenly, as you may feel lightheaded.

  • Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only under medical supervision.

  • Maintain a low-salt, balanced diet and regular exercise as advised by your doctor.

Side Effects:
Common:

  • Swelling in ankles or feet

  • Headache

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness

  • Flushing (warm feeling)

  • Fatigue

Serious (rare):

  • Fast or irregular heartbeat

  • Chest pain worsening after starting the medicine

  • Severe allergic reaction (swelling, rash, difficulty breathing)
