Description

Atorniz-FB Tablet is a combination medication used for aggressive control of high cholesterol and triglyceride levels, aiming to prevent heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular complications in patients with mixed dyslipidemia or very high lipid levels.

How it Works / Key Benefits

• Atorvastatin (a statin) inhibits HMG-CoA reductase in the liver, lowering LDL (“bad” cholesterol), raising HDL (“good” cholesterol), and reducing total cholesterol and triglycerides. It also stabilizes atherosclerotic plaques and has anti-inflammatory effects.

• Fenofibrate reduces triglycerides and VLDL cholesterol, promotes breakdown of fats, and moderately increases HDL cholesterol. It is particularly effective in lowering elevated triglycerides beyond the effects of statins alone.

Uses / Indications

• Treatment of mixed dyslipidemia (high cholesterol and high triglycerides)

• Prevention of heart attack, stroke, and other atherosclerotic cardiovascular events, especially in high-risk patients or those with diabetes/metabolic syndrome

Dosage & Administration

• One tablet daily, with or without food, at the same time each day

• Continue dietary and lifestyle changes for best results

Safety & Precautions

• Common side effects: nausea, stomach pain, constipation, flatulence, headache, mild muscle pain, insomnia, raised liver enzymes

• Serious (rare): unexplained severe muscle pain or weakness (rhabdomyolysis), liver problems, yellowing skin/eyes, unusual fatigue or dark urine

• Not for use in severe liver or kidney disease, active gallbladder disease, or during pregnancy/breastfeeding

• Tell your doctor if you have a history of muscle disorders, thyroid problems, or alcohol use

• Regular monitoring of lipid profile and liver/kidney function is recommended during treatment
