Atorvastatin: A statin that lowers LDL (“bad” cholesterol) and total cholesterol, raises HDL, reduces triglycerides, and stabilizes arterial plaques. It works by blocking the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme in the liver that makes cholesterol.
