Bilamont Tablet

Description

Bilamont Tablet is a combination therapy for allergic conditions that contains:

• Bilastine (20mg) – a second-generation antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors, helping relieve allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and itching without causing significant drowsiness.

• Montelukast (10mg) – a leukotriene receptor antagonist that reduces inflammation in the airways, helping prevent asthma attacks and improve allergy control.

This combination is useful for patients who require both antihistamine and anti-inflammatory action for allergic rhinitis and asthma.

Uses

• Management of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis

• Relief from sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and itching

• Prevention and management of allergic asthma

• Reduces airway inflammation and bronchoconstriction

Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Headache

• Mild drowsiness or fatigue (rare with bilastine)

• Stomach discomfort, nausea, or diarrhea

• Cough or throat irritation

Rare but serious side effects:

• Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)

• Mood changes or sleep disturbances (rare, mainly with montelukast)

• Liver enzyme elevation (rare)

Precautions

• Not recommended for children below 12 years unless prescribed

• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment

• Avoid alcohol as it may increase drowsiness

• Inform your doctor about other medications, especially CNS depressants or other allergy/asthma drugs

• Pregnant or breastfeeding women should take only if prescribed

Dosage

• 1 tablet once daily, preferably in the evening, or as directed by a physician

• Can be taken with or without food

• Swallow the tablet whole with water

• Store in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight

• Keep tablets in original packaging

• Keep out of reach of children
