Description

Breaze-L Tablet is a dual-action anti-allergic medicine prescribed for the treatment and prevention of allergic rhinitis, asthma, seasonal allergies, and chronic breathing problems. It combines:

  • Levocetirizine (5mg): A potent antihistamine that blocks histamine, the chemical responsible for allergic reactions such as sneezing, itching, runny nose, and watery eyes.

  • Montelukast (10mg): A leukotriene receptor antagonist that prevents airway inflammation and bronchospasms, making it especially effective in asthma management and exercise-induced breathing issues.

This combination works by providing fast relief from nasal and respiratory allergy symptoms while also preventing asthma attacks triggered by allergens, pollution, or exercise.

Uses

Breaze-L Tablet is commonly prescribed for:

  • Allergic rhinitis (seasonal & perennial): Sneezing, blocked/runny nose, nasal congestion.

  • Asthma (long-term management): Prevents asthma symptoms such as wheezing, chest tightness, and coughing.

  • Skin allergies & urticaria (hives): Reduces itching, swelling, and rashes.

  • Exercise-induced bronchospasm prevention.

  • Relief from dust, pollen, pet dander, and pollution-related allergies.

Benefits

  • Provides comprehensive allergy relief (nasal + respiratory + skin).

  • Controls both immediate symptoms (sneezing, itching) and long-term inflammation (wheezing, asthma).

  • Reduces the need for frequent use of rescue inhalers in asthma patients.

  • Taken once daily, making it convenient for regular use.

Side Effects

Most side effects are mild and temporary. They may include:

  • Headache

  • Drowsiness or tiredness

  • Stomach discomfort, nausea, or diarrhea

  • Dry mouth

  • Dizziness

Rare but serious side effects:

  • Mood or behavioral changes (irritability, restlessness, unusual dreams – linked rarely to Montelukast)

  • Severe allergic reactions (skin rash, swelling, breathing difficulty)

  • Liver-related issues (yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine, persistent stomach pain)

Precautions

  • Alcohol: Avoid alcohol as it may increase drowsiness.

  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Use only under medical advice.

  • Liver/Kidney disorders: Dose adjustment may be needed; consult your doctor.

  • Asthma: This medicine is preventive, not for acute asthma attacks. Patients should keep a rescue inhaler as prescribed.

  • Children: Not recommended below 12 years (pediatric dose available separately as Breaze-L KID).

Dosage & Administration

  • Usual adult dose: 1 tablet once daily in the evening, or as prescribed by the physician.

  • Can be taken with or without food.

  • Take at the same time every day for best results.
