Brufen P Tablet

Description

Brufen P Tablet is a dual-action pain reliever combining Ibuprofen (400mg), a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and Paracetamol (325mg), an analgesic and antipyretic. This combination provides faster and longer-lasting relief from pain, inflammation, and fever compared to either drug alone. It is commonly prescribed for acute painful conditions, fever, and inflammatory disorders.

Uses

• Relief from mild to moderate pain such as:

  • Headache, migraine

  • Toothache, dental pain

  • Back pain, joint pain

  • Menstrual cramps

• Management of fever and body ache due to infections

• Relief in musculoskeletal pain (sprains, strains, sports injuries)

• Pain and swelling associated with arthritis and osteoarthritis

How it Works

• Ibuprofen: Blocks prostaglandin synthesis (COX enzyme inhibition), reducing pain, fever, and inflammation.

• Paracetamol: Acts on the hypothalamus to lower fever and relieves pain by modulating brain pain receptors.

Together, they offer synergistic action with improved pain control.

Dosage & Administration

• To be taken orally with water, preferably after meals to reduce stomach irritation.

• Dosage: As prescribed by the doctor (generally 1 tablet every 6–8 hours if required, not exceeding recommended limits).

• Do not self-medicate or exceed the daily maximum dose of Paracetamol (4000mg/day).

Side Effects

Common:

• Nausea, vomiting

• Indigestion, stomach pain

• Heartburn

• Dizziness, headache

Serious (rare):

• Stomach ulcers or bleeding

• Allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling, breathing difficulty)

• Liver or kidney dysfunction

• Increased blood pressure or fluid retention

Precautions

• Avoid in patients with liver disease, kidney disease, stomach ulcers, heart problems, or asthma without medical advice.

• Do not combine with alcohol or other medicines containing Paracetamol/NSAIDs.

• Pregnant and breastfeeding women should take only if prescribed by a doctor.

• Use cautiously in elderly patients due to higher risk of gastrointestinal and kidney side effects.

• Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place.
