Description

Candidox Lotion is a topical antifungal preparation formulated with Ciclopirox (1% w/w). Ciclopirox is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that works by disrupting vital cellular processes within fungi, inhibiting their growth and ultimately eliminating the infection.

This lotion-based formulation is especially suitable for use on larger skin areas, hairy regions, or scalp, where creams and ointments may be inconvenient to apply. It is effective against a wide variety of fungal infections, including dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds, and is also useful in managing seborrheic dermatitis and fungal infections resistant to other antifungal medications.

Uses

• Treatment of ringworm (tinea corporis), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), and jock itch (tinea cruris)

• Management of cutaneous candidiasis (yeast infections in skin folds)

• Relief from seborrheic dermatitis affecting scalp, face, or trunk

• Supportive treatment in fungal nail and scalp infections (along with other antifungal therapies)

• Suitable for larger surface areas compared to cream formulations

Dosage & Directions for Use

• Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly.

• Apply a thin, even layer of lotion to the infected skin and surrounding region.

• Use once or twice daily or as prescribed by a dermatologist.

• For scalp use, part the hair and apply directly onto the affected patches.

• Continue treatment for the full duration recommended, even if symptoms improve early.

Possible Side Effects

Candidox Lotion is generally safe and well tolerated, but may rarely cause:

• Mild burning, itching, or redness at the site of application

• Dryness, peeling, or irritation of the skin

• Rare allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or blistering
