Description
DAILYGLIM M2 Tablet is a fixed-dose combination oral antidiabetic for adults with type 2 diabetes, used when diet, exercise, or single-agent therapy don’t offer adequate blood glucose control.
Uses / Indications
-
Type 2 diabetes mellitus: For persistent high blood sugar in adults; may be prescribed alone or with other diabetes therapies.
-
Aims to reduce long-term complications (kidney, nerve, eye, and heart disease) from uncontrolled diabetes.
How it Works / Key Benefits
-
Glimepiride: Stimulates pancreatic insulin release and improves the body’s insulin response, lowering blood sugar after meals.
-
Metformin (PR): Reduces liver glucose production, limits intestinal glucose absorption, and increases insulin sensitivity.
-
Dual-action control: More effective at lowering blood sugar than either drug alone, with a lower risk of hypoglycemia compared to traditional sulfonylureas.
Dosage & Administration

Usually one bilayered tablet daily, taken with food, preferably with breakfast.
-
Swallow whole with water—do not split, crush, or chew.
-
Always take at the same time each day and never skip meals; continue blood sugar monitoring.
-
Never double the dose if missed; resume at the normal schedule.
Safety & Side Effects
-
Common: Hypoglycemia (sweating, shakiness, confusion), nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea, headache, modest weight gain, taste changes.
-
Rare/Serious: Allergic reaction, lactic acidosis (rapid breathing, vomiting), anemia, liver/kidney dysfunction.
-
Not for type 1 diabetes, ketoacidosis, severe kidney/liver dysfunction, or metabolic acidosis.
-
