Description

Dapavel-S 10/50 Tablet is a dual-combination anti-diabetic medication used to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It contains Dapagliflozin (10mg), an SGLT2 inhibitor, and Sitagliptin (50mg), a DPP-4 inhibitor, offering a comprehensive approach to controlling blood sugar levels.

  • Dapagliflozin works by preventing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, allowing excess sugar to be excreted in urine, which helps lower blood glucose levels.

  • Sitagliptin increases levels of incretin hormones, which enhance insulin release after meals and reduce sugar production in the liver.

This combination provides effective control of both fasting and postprandial blood sugar, improves insulin sensitivity, and may reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications in diabetic patients. It is typically prescribed along with diet and exercise and may be used alone or with other anti-diabetic medications.

Uses:

  • Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

  • Maintains steady blood glucose levels

  • Helps reduce the risk of heart failure and cardiovascular complications

  • Supports weight management

  • Enhances insulin secretion and glucose utilization

Dosage:

  • Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily, with or without food.

  • Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew.

  • If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible unless it is nearly time for the next dose. Do not double doses.

  • Dosage may be adjusted depending on blood sugar levels and treatment response.

How to Use:

Take Dapavel-S 10/50 Tablet at the same time each day for consistent blood sugar control. Combine it with a healthy diet, regular exercise, and routine blood sugar monitoring. Continue taking the medication even if your blood sugar seems normal unless advised otherwise by your doctor.
