Description
Dapavel Trio 1000 Tablet ER is a triple-combination anti-diabetic medicine used for managing Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It contains Dapagliflozin (10mg), Metformin (1000mg), and Sitagliptin (100mg) in an extended-release formulation, allowing for once-daily dosing and stable blood sugar control throughout the day.
-
Dapagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor, reduces blood sugar by preventing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, leading to increased glucose excretion in urine.
-
Metformin, a biguanide, decreases hepatic glucose production and enhances insulin sensitivity.
-
Sitagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, increases levels of incretin hormones, stimulating insulin release after meals and reducing glucose production by the liver.
This combination effectively controls fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels, supports weight management, and reduces the risk of cardiovascular complications associated with diabetes. It is usually prescribed alongside diet and exercise and may be used alone or with other anti-diabetic medications.
