Description

DELZOWEL-20 contains Duloxetine 20 mg in an enteric-coated (EC) tablet, provided in a blister pack. Duloxetine is a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) antidepressant used to treat a variety of neurological and mood disorders.

Uses of DELZOWEL-20

• Diabetic nerve pain (diabetic neuropathy)

• Depression (major depressive disorder)

• Generalized anxiety disorder

• Other neuropathic pain conditions

• Chronic musculoskeletal pain

• Sometimes used for overactive bladder symptoms and other central pain disorders.

How DELZOWEL-20 Works

Duloxetine increases levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain, chemicals linked to mood and pain signaling. This helps relieve depressive symptoms, reduce anxiety, and provide pain relief in neuropathic and musculoskeletal conditions.

Dosage and Administration

• The typical starting dose for most indications is 20–30 mg once or twice daily, adjusted as needed by a healthcare provider. DELZOWEL-20 delivers 20 mg per tablet.

• For depression and anxiety, higher maintenance doses (up to 60 mg/day) are common after initial titration. Some pain conditions may be managed on lower doses.

• Tablets should be swallowed whole, not crushed or chewed, and can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects

Common side effects include:

• Nausea, dry mouth, dizziness, fatigue

• Headache, constipation, loss of appetite

• Sweating, insomnia, increased blood pressure

• Possible withdrawal symptoms if stopped abruptly

Rare but serious side effects: liver problems, severe allergic reactions, increased risk of suicidal thoughts in young adults.

Precautions and Warnings

• Avoid abrupt discontinuation; dose should be tapered under medical supervision.

• Inform doctor if there is a history of liver disease, kidney disease, glaucoma, hypertension, or bipolar disorder.

• Not recommended with certain medicines (MAO inhibitors, some pain medicines) due to interaction risk.

• Safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding is not established; use only if prescribed.
