HERPIFORD-400 DT

Description

HERPIFORD-400 DT contains acyclovir, a potent antiviral medicine formulated as a dispersible tablet (can be dissolved in water for easy intake). It is used to treat multiple viral infections, especially those caused by herpes viruses.

Therapeutic Uses

• Herpes simplex infections (oral herpes/labialis, genital herpes)

• Shingles (herpes zoster)

• Chickenpox (varicella)

• Eye infections by herpes simplex virus

• May also be used for chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection—off-label, if indicated.

• Helps reduce pain, itching, and speeds healing of blisters, sores, and rashes

How HERPIFORD-400 DT Works

Acyclovir inhibits viral DNA polymerase, preventing the herpes virus from multiplying inside human cells. This limits the spread, shortens the duration, and reduces severity of symptoms.

Directions for Use

• Dissolve tablet fully in a glass of water before ingestion.

• Take at prescribed intervals, with or without food, and drink plenty of fluids to prevent kidney strain.

• Complete the full course, even if symptoms resolve early.

Common Side Effects

• Headache, dizziness, fatigue, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain

• Rash, skin reactions, photophobia (light sensitivity)

• Rare: allergic reaction, decrease in urine output, yellowing of skin/eyes, convulsions.

• Elderly/patients with kidney disease: higher risk of central nervous system side effects—dose adjustment may be needed.

Precautions & Safety

• Drink plenty of water during treatment to protect kidney function.

• Inform physician of kidney issues, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and all medicines being used.

• Does not cure herpes infection, but controls outbreaks and reduces symptoms; it does not guarantee prevention of viral transmission—sexual abstinence/barrier protection remain necessary during active outbreaks.
