Description

KUFTIVE SG is a three-ingredient soft gelatin capsule for quick and long-lasting relief from cough, cold, and allergy symptoms. It contains a cough suppressant (dextromethorphan), a decongestant (phenylephrine), and an anti-allergic (chlorpheniramine), providing broad-spectrum symptomatic treatment for upper respiratory complaints.

Clinical Uses

• Relief of dry cough, nasal and sinus congestion, runny nose, sneezing, watery/itchy eyes, and throat irritation caused by cold, flu, hay fever, or allergies.

• Reduces intensity of dry, hacking cough and associated symptoms, improving daily comfort and sleep.

Mechanism of Action

• Dextromethorphan: Suppresses the brain’s cough center, relieving persistent dry cough.

• Phenylephrine: Narrows blood vessels in the nose, reducing congestion and making breathing easier.

• Chlorpheniramine: Blocks histamine effects, reducing sneezing, watery eyes, and other allergy symptoms.

Dosage & Administration

• Use only as prescribed—take with or without food, preferably at the same time daily.

• Swallow whole; do not crush or chew the capsule.

• Duration is usually short-term, only until symptoms resolve

Common Side Effects

• Drowsiness, dizziness, blurry vision, dry mouth, headache, nausea, weakness, stomach upset, nervousness, insomnia, hallucinations, and rarely convulsions.

• Most effects are mild/transient. If severe or persistent, inform the physician

• Not for children under 12, patients with asthma, severe hypertension, heart disease, glaucoma, or enlarged prostate.

• Do not combine with MAO inhibitors, sedatives, or alcohol.

• Consult doctor if cough or cold persists beyond 1 week or is associated with fever/rash
