Mebex Oral Suspension

Description

Bebex Oral Suspension is an anthelmintic medicine manufactured by Cipla Ltd. It contains Mebendazole 100mg per 5ml, formulated as a syrup/suspension for easy administration in children and individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets.

Mebendazole is a broad-spectrum deworming agent that works by inhibiting glucose uptake in intestinal worms, leading to energy depletion, paralysis, and eventually the natural expulsion of worms from the body.

This suspension helps to eliminate roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, and pinworm infestations, thereby improving nutrient absorption, appetite, and overall growth in children. It also helps relieve worm-related problems such as stomach pain, diarrhea, anemia, and weakness.

Uses of Mebex Oral Suspension

• Treatment of roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, and pinworm infections

• Effective in mixed worm infestations

• Part of school/community deworming programs

• Improves health by reducing worm-related complications such as malnutrition and poor growth in children

Dosage & Administration

• Adults & Children (above 2 years): 5–10 ml (equivalent to 100mg Mebendazole) once or twice daily for 3 days or as prescribed by the doctor.

• Pinworm (threadworm): A single 5–10 ml dose may be sufficient.

• Children below 2 years: Use only under medical supervision.

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Can be given with or without food.

Precautions

• Not recommended during pregnancy (especially first trimester).

• Use with caution in patients with liver problems.

• Maintain hygiene and sanitation (washing hands, trimming nails, clean surroundings) to prevent re-infection.

• Complete the full prescribed course for best results.
