Mikacin 100mg Injection

Description

Mikacin 100mg Injection contains Amikacin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic. It is generally used for the treatment of moderate to severe bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. This lower strength (100mg) is usually preferred for pediatric patients, neonates, or dose-adjusted treatments under strict medical supervision.

Uses

How It Works

Amikacin binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, interfering with protein synthesis. This action kills bacteria and stops infection from spreading.

Side Effects

Common:

• Injection site pain, swelling, or redness

• Nausea, vomiting

• Mild headache or fever

Serious (rare, dose-dependent):

• Kidney damage (nephrotoxicity)

• Hearing loss or ringing in ears (ototoxicity)
