Description

MONTECIP BL is a dual-action antiallergic tablet that combines a second-generation antihistamine (Bilastine) and a leukotriene receptor antagonist (Montelukast Sodium). This combination is formulated to relieve and prevent symptoms of allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria (hives), seasonal allergies, and to support respiratory health in asthmatic patients.

Uses

• Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose, blocked nose, itchy or watery eyes)
• Chronic urticaria (persistent hives, itching)
• Seasonal and perennial allergies
• Adjunct therapy for asthma symptom management
• Relief from other allergy symptoms like skin rash, nasal congestion, and irritation

How It Works

• Bilastine: Selectively blocks H1 histamine receptors, helping control classic allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itching, and hives, with minimal risk of drowsiness.
• Montelukast: Blocks leukotriene receptors, reducing inflammation, swelling, and bronchospasm, which is particularly beneficial for patients with asthma or allergic airway conditions.

Dosage & Administration

• Typical adult dose: 1 tablet once daily (or as prescribed by your doctor)
• Administration: Swallow tablet whole with water, preferably on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food or fruit juice) for optimal absorption
• Duration: As advised by your healthcare professional; do not stop abruptly unless instructed

Precautions

• Not recommended for children below 12 years unless prescribed
• Inform your doctor if you have severe kidney or liver issues, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are on other regular medications
• Avoid consuming fruit juice before or after taking the tablet, as it can reduce absorption
