Natamet Eye Drop

Description

Natamet Eye Drop is a prescription antifungal eye medication used to treat fungal infections of the eyes (keratitis, blepharitis, conjunctivitis). It contains Natamycin (5% w/v), a polyene antifungal antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of fungi responsible for eye infections.

Uses:

• Treatment of fungal keratitis (fungal infection of the cornea)

• Fungal conjunctivitis (infection of the eye membrane)

• Blepharitis caused by fungal organisms

• Helps reduce symptoms such as eye redness, pain, itching, discharge, and blurred vision due to infection

How to Use:

• Use as directed by your ophthalmologist.

• Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and instill the prescribed number of drops.

• Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination.

• Wash hands before and after use.

Dosage:

• Dose and duration depend on the severity of infection and doctor’s advice.

• Do not stop treatment suddenly, even if symptoms improve, as the infection may return.

Precautions:

• For external ophthalmic use only; do not swallow.

• Inform your doctor about any other eye medications you are using.

• Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment unless approved by your doctor.

• Use with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Possible Side Effects:

• Temporary eye irritation, redness, or burning sensation
