Description

NEDOLIDE-P is a bilayered prescription tablet containing Nimesulide 100 mg and Paracetamol 325 mg, supplied in blister packaging. It is intended for short-term relief of mild to moderate pain, inflammation, and fever, especially when both pain and fever are present due to musculoskeletal injuries, dental procedures, or infections.

How it Works

  • Nimesulide is a selective NSAID that blocks the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme, reducing pain, swelling, and inflammation.

  • Paracetamol acts centrally to reduce fever and alleviate pain, but with minimal anti-inflammatory effect.

  • Together, the combination provides potent analgesic and antipyretic action for rapid symptom relief.

Main Uses

  • Relief from pain and fever caused by musculoskeletal conditions, arthritis, toothaches, headaches, minor trauma, post-operative pain, and menstrual cramps.

  • Effective for acute painful conditions in adults requiring dual-action anti-inflammatory and fever control.

Key Benefits

  • Provides faster and broader pain and fever relief than single-agent therapy.

  • Generally well tolerated with low rates of GI and hepatic side effects in Indian studies when used short-term under medical supervision.

  • Bilayered tablet enables rapid onset of action and convenient dosing.

Dosage & Administration

  • Take one tablet orally, usually twice daily after food, for the shortest duration necessary.

  • Do not exceed prescribed dose or use in combination with other acetaminophen/paracetamol medicines to avoid overdose.

  • Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew.

  • Avoid alcohol to minimize risk of liver injury.

Safety & Precautions

  • Not for use in children below 6 years, below 20 kg weight, or those with dehydration.

  • Common side effects: nausea, stomach upset, sleepiness, dizziness, headache, diarrhea.

  • Contraindicated in persons with active liver/kidney/heart disease, gastric/duodenal ulcers, bleeding disorders, or allergies to nimesulide, paracetamol, or NSAIDs.

  • Avoid in pregnancy/breastfeeding and persons on blood thinners, anticancer agents, or immunosuppressant drugs without consulting a doctor.

  • Prolonged use or overdose can result in liver damage, kidney injury, or in rare cases, serious allergic or GI events—use only as prescribed.

  • Seek medical aid for black stools, persistent vomiting, jaundice, or allergic reactions.
