Oflomac Oral Solution

Description

Oflomac Oral Solution contains Ofloxacin (50mg/5ml), a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the fluoroquinolone class. It is commonly prescribed for children and adults who have difficulty swallowing tablets. This solution is effective in treating a wide range of bacterial infections, including those affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract, skin, and soft tissues.

Ofloxacin works by blocking bacterial DNA replication and repair mechanisms, leading to the death of infection-causing bacteria.

Common Uses:

• Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Gastrointestinal infections (infectious diarrhea, typhoid fever)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Certain ear and throat infections

Key Information:

• Usually given in measured doses using a medicine cup or spoon.

• Shake well before use.

• Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve early.

• Should not be taken with milk or antacids containing aluminum/magnesium as they interfere with absorption.
