Description
OLTEF VG is a prescription vaginal softgel capsule containing the antibiotic Clindamycin and antifungal Clotrimazole, supplied in blister strips. It is indicated for the syndromic treatment of vaginal discharge caused by mixed infections—specifically bacterial vaginosis, vulvovaginal candidiasis, and other mixed vaginal infections.
How it Works
-
Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, effectively killing bacteria responsible for vaginal infections (such as those causing bacterial vaginosis).
-
Clotrimazole disrupts fungal cell membrane synthesis, stopping the growth of fungi (mainly Candida species) that result in vulvovaginal candidiasis.
-
The combination targets both bacterial and fungal pathogens for comprehensive relief from vaginal discharge, irritation, odor, and itching.
Main Uses
-
Syndromic treatment of vaginal discharge due to mixed bacterial and fungal infections.
-
