Description

Paraxin 500 Capsule is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that contains Chloramphenicol, an effective antibacterial agent used for the treatment of serious bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby preventing bacteria from growing and multiplying. This medicine is generally prescribed for severe infections where other antibiotics may not be effective.

Uses / Indications:

• Typhoid and paratyphoid fever

• Severe respiratory tract infections (such as pneumonia, bronchitis)

• Meningitis (in select cases under strict medical supervision)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Eye and ear infections caused by susceptible bacteria

• Other systemic bacterial infections resistant to first-line antibiotics

Dosage & Administration:

• Should be taken only under medical supervision.

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water, with or without food.

• Dosage depends on infection severity, age, weight, and patient’s overall condition.

• Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed, even if symptoms improve early, to avoid antibiotic resistance.

Possible Side Effects:

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal discomfort

• Headache, dizziness, or weakness

• Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing)
