How Razel 40 Works

Rosuvastatin inhibits an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which is involved in cholesterol production in the liver. This reduces cholesterol synthesis and increases the liver’s removal of LDL cholesterol from the blood.

Dosage & How to Use

Take Razel 40 Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• It may be taken with or without food.
• Take it at the same time each day.
• Continue a cholesterol-lowering diet and regular physical activity as advised.
• Do not stop the medicine without consulting your doctor.

Note: 40mg is a high dose of Rosuvastatin and is generally reserved for patients who require intensive LDL-cholesterol lowering.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include:

• Headache
• Muscle pain
• Weakness
• Nausea
• Stomach discomfort
• Constipation

Rare but serious side effects include severe muscle injury (rhabdomyolysis) and liver problems.

Seek immediate medical attention for severe or unexplained muscle pain or weakness, particularly with fever or dark-coloured urine.

Precautions

Tell your doctor if you have:

• Thyroid problems
• A history of muscle disorders
• Previous muscle problems caused by statins
