Description
Scabirest Lotion is a topical antiparasitic medicine used to treat scabies (mite infestation) and head or body lice. It combines Lindane, an ectoparasiticide that kills mites and lice by affecting their nervous system, with Cetrimide, an antiseptic that helps reduce bacterial contamination of the affected skin.
Scabies is a contagious skin condition caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei mite, leading to intense itching and a characteristic rash. Lice infestations are caused by small parasitic insects that feed on blood from the scalp or body. Scabirest Lotion helps eliminate these parasites and relieve associated symptoms.
Important: Because Lindane can be absorbed through the skin and may cause serious nervous system side effects, it is generally not the first-choice treatment for scabies or lice. It should only be used when safer treatments (such as permethrin) are not suitable or have failed, and always under medical supervision.
