Description
Valance OD 1g Tablet PR is an antiepileptic and mood stabilizing medicine that contains Divalproex Sodium 1000mg in a prolonged-release (PR) formulation. It helps in controlling seizures, managing bipolar disorder, and preventing migraine headaches. The prolonged-release property ensures a steady and sustained release of the medicine, allowing for better control of symptoms with fewer daily doses.
Uses
-
Epilepsy: Controls different types of seizures in adults and children.
-
Bipolar Disorder: Stabilizes mood, reduces frequency of manic and depressive episodes.
-
Migraine Prophylaxis: Helps prevent migraine attacks.
How it Works
Divalproex increases the concentration of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. This calms excessive nerve activity, prevents abnormal electrical discharges, and maintains brain stability, thereby controlling seizures, mood disturbances, and migraines.
