Description

Oflomac-M Forte Suspension contains a combination of Ofloxacin (100mg/5ml) and Metronidazole (200mg/5ml). It is an antibiotic and antiprotozoal medicine used in children to treat a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections, including those affecting the teeth, gums, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. It is especially effective in managing conditions like diarrhea and dysentery caused by mixed infections.

This suspension works by damaging the DNA of harmful bacteria and parasites, thereby stopping their growth and preventing the infection from spreading. With its dual-action formula, it offers broader coverage against difficult infections.

How to use:
Oflomac-M Forte Suspension is given orally, usually twice daily (morning and evening), with or without food. If your child experiences stomach upset, give it with meals. If vomiting occurs within 30 minutes of a dose, the same dose may be repeated. Always measure the dose with a proper measuring cup or spoon and shake the bottle well before use. The exact dose and duration are determined by the doctor based on your child’s age, body weight, and the severity of infection. Completing the full prescribed course is essential to prevent relapse or resistance.

Possible side effects:
Most children tolerate Oflomac-M Forte Suspension well, but some may experience nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, metallic taste, loss of appetite, mild rash, urine discoloration, or difficulty sleeping (insomnia). These effects are usually mild and temporary. If they persist or worsen, consult your child’s doctor.

Precautions:
Before use, inform your doctor if your child has a history of allergies, kidney disease, liver problems, or heart conditions. Dose adjustments may be needed in cases of kidney or severe liver impairment.

Missed dose:
If a dose is missed, give it as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for the next one. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.
