Description

Deriva-BPO Gel is a topical anti-acne preparation that combines two highly effective agents: Adapalene, a third-generation retinoid, and Benzoyl Peroxide, a potent antimicrobial and keratolytic agent.

  • Adapalene (0.1%) works by regulating skin cell turnover, preventing clogging of pores, and reducing inflammation.

  • Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%) kills acne-causing bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes), reduces oiliness, and helps clear blocked pores.

This dual-action formula provides a synergistic effect—targeting multiple causes of acne, reducing existing pimples, preventing new breakouts, and improving overall skin texture.

Uses

  • Treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris (whiteheads, blackheads, papules, pustules)

  • Reduces inflammation, redness, and swelling associated with acne

  • Prevents formation of new comedones and pimples

  • Improves skin clarity and texture with regular use

Dosage & Directions for Use

  • Clean and dry the affected skin before application.

  • Apply a thin layer once daily at night (or as directed by a dermatologist).

  • Avoid applying on broken skin, eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.

  • Use sunscreen during the day, as retinoids can increase skin sensitivity to sunlight.

  • Full effects may be visible after 8–12 weeks of consistent use.

Possible Side Effects

Most side effects are mild and improve with continued use.

Common:

  • Redness, dryness, peeling, or mild burning at the application site

  • Temporary worsening of acne in the first 2–4 weeks (“purging phase”)

Serious but rare:

  • Severe irritation, blistering, or allergic reaction

  • Swelling of face or lips (requires immediate medical attention)

⚠️ Avoid using with other strong acne medications (like high-strength retinoids or peeling agents) unless prescribed.
