Description

Azimax 100 Dry Syrup is a prescription antibiotic manufactured by Cipla Ltd. It contains Azithromycin 100mg per 5ml (after reconstitution). It is formulated as a dry syrup for easy administration, especially for children and patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets.

Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping the growth of bacteria. It is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, making it suitable for treating various bacterial infections.


Uses of Azimax 100 Dry Syrup

  • Treatment of respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis

  • Treatment of ear infections (otitis media) and throat infections (tonsillitis, pharyngitis)

  • Effective for skin and soft tissue infections

  • Treats gastrointestinal infections caused by susceptible bacteria

  • Pediatric use for infections where oral suspension is preferred


Dosage & Administration

  • Children: Usually 10mg/kg once daily for 3–5 days (as per doctor’s prescription)

  • Adults: Dose may vary depending on infection type

  • Shake well before reconstitution and after reconstitution before each use

  • Take on an empty stomach or 1 hour before/2 hours after meals for better absorption

  • Complete the full course even if symptoms improve


Precautions

  • Avoid use if allergic to macrolide antibiotics

  • Use cautiously in patients with liver disease or heart rhythm disorders

  • Inform the doctor if the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding

  • May interact with antacids or other medications
