Brimolol Eye Drop

Description

Brimolol Eye Drop is a prescription ophthalmic medicine manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. It contains a combination of:

• Timolol (5mg/ml): A beta-blocker that decreases aqueous humor production in the eye, lowering intraocular pressure (IOP).

• Brimonidine (1.5mg/ml): An alpha-2 adrenergic agonist that reduces fluid production and increases drainage from the eye.

This combination is commonly prescribed for patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension to help prevent damage to the optic nerve and preserve vision.

Uses

• Treatment of open-angle glaucoma

• Management of ocular hypertension

• Helps prevent optic nerve damage

• Reduces risk of vision loss due to high intraocular pressure

Dosage

• Administer as prescribed by your ophthalmologist

• Usually 1 drop in the affected eye(s) 2–3 times daily

• Wash hands before use and avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye

• Close the eye gently after application for better absorption

Side Effects

• Eye irritation, burning, or stinging

• Blurred vision or dry eyes

• Mild headache or dizziness

• Rare: allergic reactions or slow heartbeat

Precautions
