Description

Cekoda-O Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination used to treat moderate to severe bacterial infections, taking advantage of dual mechanisms of action for wider bacterial coverage.

Uses / Indications

• Respiratory tract infections: Pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs): Infection of the bladder, kidney, or urethra

• Ear infections: Otitis media or severe ear infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Gastrointestinal infections: Severe or resistant types of infectious diarrhea, typhoid fever

• Sexually transmitted diseases: Such as uncomplicated gonorrhea, as prescribed

• Other serious bacterial infections: E.g. in bone, joints, blood, or abdomen

How it Works / Key Benefits

• Cefpodoxime: A third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis leading to lysis and death of sensitive bacteria.

• Ofloxacin: A fluoroquinolone antibiotic, inhibits bacterial DNA replication enzymes (DNA gyrase, topoisomerase IV), preventing growth and multiplication of bacteria.

• The combination addresses a broader range of bacteria, including many resistant to single-agent therapy.

Dosage & Administration

• Administer as prescribed by the physician. Typically, 1 tablet twice a day, with or without food, at the same times each day.

• Always finish the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve early—stopping early can lead to recurrence or resistance.

• Swallow whole; do not chew/crush. Take with a full glass of water.

Safety & Side Effects

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness.

• May very rarely cause skin rash, itching, allergic reactions. Seek urgent medical help if severe (swelling, breathing difficulty).

• Avoid alcohol and take with caution if driving—may cause drowsiness, dizziness.

• Caution in kidney/liver impairment, seizure disorder, or in elderly patients.

• Not for viral infections. Use in pregnancy/breastfeeding only as prescribed.
