Description

Ciproview Eye Drops is a topical antibiotic solution formulated to treat bacterial infections of the eye. It contains ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial DNA-gyrase, an enzyme essential for bacterial DNA replication and repair. By disrupting this process, Ciproview effectively halts the growth and multiplication of bacteria, thereby treating infections such as:

  • Bacterial Conjunctivitis: Inflammation of the conjunctiva, commonly known as “pink eye.”

  • Corneal Ulcers: Open sores on the cornea often caused by bacterial infections.

Key Benefits:

  • Effective Treatment: Targets and eliminates the bacteria causing eye infections.

  • Broad-Spectrum Activity: Active against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.

  • Rapid Action: Provides quick relief from symptoms like redness, itching, and discharge.

Dosage and Administration:

  • Dosage: Follow the prescribed dosage by your healthcare provider.

  • Administration: Wash hands thoroughly before use. Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid to form a pocket. Hold the dropper above the eye and instill the prescribed number of drops into the pocket. Close the eye and press gently on the inner corner to prevent drainage. Repeat for the other eye if directed.

  • Frequency: Typically used every 4 hours during the day and every 6 hours at night for the first 2 days, then reduced as advised by your doctor.

Safety Information:

  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate. Discard the bottle 4 weeks after opening.

  • Precautions: Consult your doctor before use if you have a history of hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or other quinolones. Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment.

  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor.

  • Side Effects: May include temporary stinging or burning sensation upon application, eye irritation, or blurred vision. If these persist or worsen, consult your healthcare provider.

Important Notes:

  • Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve to prevent the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

  • Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye, to prevent contamination.

  • If you miss a dose, instill it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose—do not double up to make up for a missed dose.
