CLAMP-625

Description

CLAMP-625 Tablet is a combination antibiotic used to treat a wide range of moderate to severe bacterial infections in adults and children over 12 years.

Uses / Indications

• Respiratory tract infections: Sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia.

• Ear infections: Otitis media.

• Urinary tract infections (UTI), cystitis, pyelonephritis.

• Skin and soft tissue infections: Cellulitis, boils, abscess, wound infection.

• Dental infections (including tooth abscess, dental cellulitis).

• Also for bone/joint infections, genital, and other susceptible bacterial infections.

How it Works / Key Benefits

• Amoxicillin: Penicillin-type antibiotic, kills sensitive bacteria by inhibiting cell wall formation.

• Clavulanic Acid: Beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents bacteria from making enzymes (beta-lactamases) which break down amoxicillin, thus expanding coverage against resistant bacteria.

• The combination is especially effective against organisms that become resistant to amoxicillin alone.

Dosage & Administration

• Adults/Children (12+): One tablet every 12 hours (twice daily), swallowed whole with food to prevent stomach upset.

• Do not crush or chew; take at evenly spaced intervals and always complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve.

• Children under 12 years: Specific formulations and doses by body weight are used—consult pediatric guidelines.

Safety & Side Effects

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mild skin rash or itching, oral/vaginal thrush.

• Rare (serious): Allergic reaction (swelling, rash, breathing trouble), jaundice, hepatitis, severe diarrhea—stop and seek care if these develop.

• Do not use in those allergic to penicillins or with serious liver dysfunction.

• Inform your doctor about previous antibiotic allergies and all other medicines being taken.
