Description

Etody 60 Tablet is a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory medicine that contains Etoricoxib (60mg) as its active ingredient. It belongs to a class of medicines known as COX-2 selective NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). Etody 60 Tablet is primarily used to relieve pain, swelling, and inflammation associated with various joint and muscle disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and spondylitis.

Etoricoxib works by selectively inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme responsible for the production of prostaglandins, which cause pain and inflammation in the body. By blocking this enzyme, Etody 60 Tablet provides targeted pain relief while minimizing the risk of stomach irritation that is common with older NSAIDs.

Uses:

  • Relief from joint pain and inflammation in conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis

  • Treatment of acute gouty arthritis

  • Relief from muscle pain, dental pain, back pain, and menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea)

  • Management of post-operative or traumatic pain

Dosage:

The dosage is determined by the doctor based on your medical condition and severity of pain.

  • Typically taken once daily, with or without food.

  • Swallow the tablet whole with water — do not crush or chew.

  • Take it at the same time each day for consistent pain control.

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose or use it for longer than advised.

How to Use:

Take Etody 60 Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It may be taken with or after meals to minimize stomach discomfort. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Avoid skipping doses or stopping the medicine suddenly without medical advice, as it may reduce its effectiveness.

Precautions:

  • Avoid alcohol, as it may increase the risk of stomach irritation and dizziness.

  • Not recommended for patients with severe liver, kidney, or heart diseases.

  • Use cautiously if you have high blood pressure, fluid retention, or a history of ulcers.

  • Avoid taking other NSAIDs (like ibuprofen or naproxen) while on Etoricoxib unless prescribed.

  • Not suitable for use in pregnancy, breastfeeding, or children below 16 years.

  • Consult your doctor immediately if you experience swelling in legs, chest pain, or shortness of breath.

Side Effects:

Common: Stomach discomfort, dizziness, headache, nausea, weakness, indigestion, or swelling of ankles.
Occasional: Sleepiness, heartburn, or bloating.
Serious (seek medical help): Chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, yellowing of skin/eyes (liver issues), or allergic reactions (rash, itching, or swelling).
