Description

Famtac Tablet contains Famotidine, a medicine belonging to the H2 receptor antagonist (H2 blocker) class. It is primarily used to reduce excess stomach acid production and treat conditions related to acid reflux and ulcers. By blocking histamine H2 receptors in the stomach lining, Famotidine decreases acid secretion, providing relief from heartburn, acidity, and ulcer symptoms.

Uses of Famtac Tablet

• Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

• Relief from heartburn and acid indigestion

• Management of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers

• Treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (excess acid production)

• Prevention of acid-related damage in long-term NSAID users

How it Works

• Famotidine (40mg): Works by selectively blocking histamine H2 receptors in the stomach lining.

• This action reduces stomach acid secretion, prevents irritation of the esophagus and stomach, and allows ulcers to heal effectively.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual dosage: Once or twice daily, preferably at bedtime or as prescribed by a doctor.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Complete the full course, even if symptoms improve early.

• Avoid alcohol, smoking, and spicy foods, as they may worsen acidity and reflux.
