About Glycomet-GP 3/850 Tablet PR
Glycomet-GP 3/850 Tablet PR is an oral anti-diabetic medicine used for the effective management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults.
It helps lower and control high blood sugar levels when diet, exercise, and monotherapy (a single anti-diabetic medicine) are not enough.
By keeping glucose levels stable, it prevents long-term complications like heart disease, kidney damage, nerve issues, and eye problems.
How It Works
This medicine combines two anti-diabetic agents with complementary actions:
-
Glimepiride (3mg): A sulfonylurea that increases the release of insulin from the pancreas.
-
Metformin (850mg): A biguanide that reduces glucose production in the liver, slows intestinal absorption of sugar, and enhances insulin sensitivity.
The prolonged-release (PR) formulation ensures a steady release of the medicine throughout the day for stable blood sugar control.
