KETOCIP 100ML – 2% SHAMPOO

Description

Ketocip 2% Shampoo is a medicated antifungal shampoo formulated by Cipla Ltd. It contains Ketoconazole 2%, which is stronger than the 1% formulation and is prescribed for moderate to severe dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, and fungal scalp infections.

Ketoconazole works by destroying the fungal cell membrane and preventing the growth of fungi and yeast, particularly Malassezia, the primary cause of dandruff and flaking. With its higher strength (2%), Ketocip is especially effective in controlling persistent dandruff, itching, scaling, and redness of the scalp.

Uses of Ketocip 2% Shampoo

• Treatment of moderate to severe dandruff

• Relief from itching, scaling, redness, and irritation of the scalp

• Management of seborrheic dermatitis

• Treatment of pityriasis versicolor (fungal skin infection causing discolored patches)

How to Use

1. Wet hair and scalp thoroughly.

2. Apply sufficient shampoo to cover the scalp and massage gently.

3. Leave the shampoo on the scalp for 3–5 minutes before rinsing off.

4. Use twice a week for 2–4 weeks (for active treatment).

5. For maintenance therapy, use once every 1–2 weeks, or as directed by your doctor.

Precautions

• For external use only.

• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or open wounds. If contact occurs, rinse immediately.

• Do not use if you are allergic to Ketoconazole or any excipient in the shampoo.

• Inform your doctor if you are using other topical corticosteroids or antifungal treatments.

• Safe for adults; use in children should be under medical advice.

Possible Side Effects

• Mild scalp irritation, itching, or burning

• Dryness or oiliness of hair/scalp

• Uncommon hair discoloration (mainly in chemically treated/grey hair)
