LEGOMONT-LC

Description

LEGOMONT-LC contains montelukast (a leukotriene receptor antagonist) and levocetirizine (an antihistamine), two potent anti-allergy agents combined for enhanced symptom control in allergic conditions.

Clinical Uses

• Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis: Controls sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, itchiness, watery eyes, and allergy-triggered sleep disturbance.

• Allergic asthma or asthma with coexisting rhinitis: Reduces bronchospasm and airway inflammation due to allergens.

• Chronic urticaria (hives) and allergic conjunctivitis: When allergy symptoms affect skin and eyes.

• Dust, pet, and environmental allergy management

Mechanism of Action

• Montelukast: Blocks leukotriene receptors, reducing inflammation and constriction in airway tissues—relieves nasal and bronchial allergy symptoms.

• Levocetirizine: Blocks histamine receptors, lessening sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and nasal discharge.

• Dual-action therapy improves symptom relief for both nasal and bronchial complaints, with benefit for sleep and quality of life.

Dosage & Administration

• One tablet once daily (usually in the evening), with or without food, as prescribed.

• Swallow whole with water; do not chew or crush

• Suitable for adults and children over 12 years; pediatric dosing is as per doctor instruction.

Common Side Effects

• Headache, sleepiness, dry mouth, fatigue, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, mood changes (rare)

• Most side effects are mild and self-limited.

• Avoid in severe liver impairment; caution with alcohol or sedatives
