Description
LIPVAS-ASP 10 Capsule, manufactured by Cipla Ltd, is a dual-combination medicine containing Atorvastatin (10mg) and Aspirin (75mg). It is prescribed for the prevention of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular complications in patients with high cholesterol or a history of heart disease.
This capsule works through a two-way protective mechanism:
-
Atorvastatin (10mg): Cholesterol-Lowering Statin
-
Atorvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin).
-
It lowers LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol).
-
By reducing cholesterol buildup in the arteries, it prevents plaque formation (atherosclerosis), improves blood flow, and reduces strain on the heart.
-
-
Aspirin (75mg): Antiplatelet Agent
-
Aspirin prevents blood clots by stopping platelets from sticking together.
-
This ensures smooth blood flow and lowers the risk of clot-related complications such as heart attack, ischemic stroke, and blocked arteries.
-
Together, these medicines provide dual protection by keeping cholesterol levels under control and reducing the risk of clot formation.
