MONTECIP LC TABS

Description

MONTECIP LC is a combination antiallergic tablet used to relieve symptoms associated with allergies and asthma. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist, and Levocetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine. These drugs work together to reduce inflammation and block the effects of histamine and leukotrienes, both of which cause allergy and asthma symptoms.

Uses

• Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, stuffy/runny nose, itchy or watery eyes)
• Seasonal and perennial allergies (hay fever)
• Chronic urticaria (persistent hives, skin itching/rash)
• Prevention and relief of asthma symptoms (such as wheezing, shortness of breath)
• Relief from both nasal and skin allergy symptoms

How It Works

• Levocetirizine: Blocks histamine H1 receptors, reducing allergic reactions like sneezing, itching, and watery eyes.
• Montelukast: Blocks leukotriene receptors in the lungs and airways, decreasing inflammation and improving airflow. This is especially useful for allergy-induced or exercise-induced asthma.

Dosage & Administration

• The typical adult dose is one tablet once daily, preferably in the evening.
• Take with or without food; swallow whole with water.
• Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding dosing, especially for children and the elderly.
• Continue treatment for the prescribed duration, even if symptoms improve early.

Precautions

• Not advised for children under 15 years unless prescribed by a doctor.
• Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, epilepsy, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• This medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness—avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
• Avoid alcohol, as it can increase sleepiness.
• Not to be used for acute asthma attacks; use a rescue inhaler for emergency relief.

Storage

• Store below 30°C, protected from moisture and sunlight.
• Keep out of reach of children.
