Description

NEVIBLOC-AM is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing Nebivolol (a selective beta-1 blocker) and Amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker), supplied in Alu-Alu packaging. This dual-action medication is designed for long-term management of mild to moderate hypertension (high blood pressure), particularly in patients who require more than one medicine for adequate control.

How it Works

• Nebivolol lowers heart rate and cardiac output while dilating blood vessels via nitric oxide–mediated effects, reducing vascular resistance and blood pressure.

• Amlodipine relaxes vascular smooth muscle and dilates arteries by blocking L-type calcium channels, reducing blood pressure and decreasing strain on the heart.

• Together, they offer complementary blood pressure–lowering and vascular protective effects with good tolerability in clinical studies.

Dosage & Administration

Safety & Precautions

• Common side effects: headache, fatigue, dizziness, ankle swelling, constipation, slow heart rate.

• Rare side effects: cold extremities, mild GI symptoms, fluid retention (oedema).

• Contraindicated in severe heart failure, advanced liver dysfunction, 2nd/3rd degree heart block, severe bradycardia, or those allergic to either agent.

• Use with caution in diabetics (may mask hypoglycemia), elderly, and pregnancy/breastfeeding (only as advised by doctor).

• Do not stop medication suddenly—may cause rebound hypertension; always consult physician before discontinuation or dose changes.

• Rising slowly from sitting/lying positions may help prevent dizziness (orthostatic hypotension).
