Description
PROPIBEAT-20 contains propranolol 20 mg, a non-selective beta blocker. It is supplied as a tablet in strip packaging for oral use and is prescribed for a range of cardiovascular and neurological conditions.
Clinical Uses

High blood pressure (hypertension).

Angina (chronic chest pain).

Arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats).

Prevention of migraines.

Tremors (essential tremor).

Control of anxiety symptoms, especially physical symptoms like palpitations or tremors.

Certain types of adrenal gland tumors (pheochromocytoma, with other medicines).

Mechanism of Action
Propranolol blocks beta receptors in the heart, blood vessels, and other parts of the body, reducing heart rate, contractility, and blood pressure. It also lessens abnormal nerve impulses, providing benefit in tremors, anxiety, and migraine.
Dosage & Administration

Typical adult dose: 10–40 mg three or four times daily, depending on indication.

The 20 mg strength is usually started once to four times daily, adjusted per medical advice.

Take before meals and at bedtime as directed.

Dizziness, tiredness, slow heart rate, cold hands/feet, sleep disturbances, nausea, stomach upset.

Rare: breathing difficulties (especially in asthmatics), depression, vivid dreams, or severe bradycardia.
Precautions & Safety Advice
