Description

PROPIBEAT-40 SR contains propranolol 40 mg in a sustained release (SR) formulation, offering long-acting beta-blocker action for once-daily therapy. The medication is supplied as a tablet in strip packaging and is prescribed for heart and neurological conditions requiring 24-hour coverage.

Clinical Uses

• Hypertension (high blood pressure).

• Prevention of angina (chronic chest pain).

• Arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats).

• Migraine prevention.

• Tremors (essential tremor).

• Control of anxiety symptoms (physical manifestations).

• Following heart attack or after cardiac surgery for protective effect.

Mechanism of Action

Propranolol blocks beta receptors throughout the body, reducing heart rate, contractile force, and blood pressure, and helping to prevent abnormal heart rhythms and physical symptoms of anxiety. Dosage & Administration
