Description

Telpres AM 40 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medicine that contains Telmisartan (40mg) and Amlodipine (5mg).

• Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that helps relax blood vessels by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a natural substance that causes blood vessel constriction.

• Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that works by relaxing the heart muscles and widening blood vessels, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.

Together, they provide better blood pressure control than when used alone. This medicine reduces the risk of stroke, heart attack, heart failure, and kidney complications associated with long-term uncontrolled hypertension.

Uses:

• Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)

• Prevention of stroke, heart attack, and cardiovascular complications

• Useful in patients not adequately controlled on monotherapy with Telmisartan or Amlodipine

How to Use:

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Take at the same time every day for best results.

• Do not stop taking the medicine suddenly without medical advice.

Side Effects:

Common:

• Dizziness, headache, flushing

• Swelling of ankles/feet (edema)

• Fatigue, weakness

• Stomach upset, nausea

Serious but rare:

• Low blood pressure (hypotension)

• Increased potassium levels (hyperkalemia)

• Irregular heartbeat, chest pain

• Liver or kidney dysfunction

• Allergic reaction (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty)
