Description

Telpres CT 40/12.5 Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and Chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic. This dual-action formula helps control blood pressure more effectively in patients who do not achieve desired results with single-drug therapy.

• Telmisartan (40mg): Works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels, leading to relaxation of blood vessels and reduced blood pressure.

• Chlorthalidone (12.5mg): Helps eliminate excess salt and water through urine, which decreases blood volume, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing strain on the heart.

By combining these two actions, the medicine provides 24-hour blood pressure control, improves heart health, and reduces the risk of stroke, heart attack, kidney damage, and heart failure.
