Description
Ixarola 2.5mg Tablet is an anticoagulant medicine that helps prevent the formation of harmful blood clots. It is commonly prescribed to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other clot-related conditions in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) or peripheral artery disease (PAD). It works by blocking certain clotting factors in the blood, allowing smoother blood flow and lowering the risk of clot formation.
Dosage
Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually twice a day with or after meals. Do not change the dose or stop the medicine on your own, as doing so may increase the risk of blood clots or stroke.
How to Use
Swallow the tablet whole with water. It should be taken with food for better absorption. Try to take it at the same time every day. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
Precautions
Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or bleeding disorders. Avoid alcohol and other medicines that may increase bleeding risk unless advised by your doctor. Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically prescribed. Avoid injury-prone activities while taking this medicine.
Side Effects
Common side effects include mild bleeding, headache, dizziness, nausea, and stomach pain. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe or prolonged bleeding, black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, weakness, or sudden shortness of breath.
