Description

Lmwx 40 Injection contains Enoxaparin 40mg, a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) used as an anticoagulant to prevent and treat blood clots (thrombosis). It is commonly prescribed for patients at risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), or other thromboembolic conditions, especially in hospitalized or post-surgical patients.

This injectable form allows for subcutaneous administration, providing rapid and predictable anticoagulant effects with lower risk of complications compared to unfractionated heparin.

Uses

  • Prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in surgical or immobilized patients

  • Treatment of DVT and pulmonary embolism (PE)

  • Prevention of blood clots in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS)

  • Used in patients with limited mobility or prolonged hospitalization to reduce clotting risk

How It Works

  • Enoxaparin is a low molecular weight heparin that enhances the activity of antithrombin III.

  • It inhibits clotting factors Xa and IIa, reducing formation of blood clots.

  • Provides predictable anticoagulant effects without frequent monitoring in most patients.

  • Subcutaneous injection ensures rapid absorption and reliable anticoagulation.

Benefits

  • Effective in preventing and treating blood clots

  • Lower risk of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) compared to unfractionated heparin

  • Predictable dose-response, often not requiring routine blood monitoring

  • Convenient subcutaneous administration for hospital or home use

  • Reduces complications related to surgery, immobility, or cardiovascular conditions

Directions for Use

  • Administer only under medical supervision.

  • Inject subcutaneously as per physician’s instructions.

  • Dosage and duration depend on clinical condition, patient weight, and risk factors.

  • Do not alter the dose without consulting your doctor.

  • Avoid intravenous or intramuscular injection unless specifically prescribed.

Safety Information

  • Common side effects: mild bruising, pain, or redness at injection site.

  • Serious side effects (rare): bleeding, thrombocytopenia, allergic reactions.

  • Use with caution in patients with bleeding disorders, recent surgery, or kidney impairment.

  • Avoid concurrent use of other anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs unless directed by a physician.

  • Immediate medical attention required if unusual bleeding, bruising, or severe pain occurs.
