Description

Oratil 125mg Tablet DT is an antibiotic used in children to treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin, soft tissues, bones, joints, and urinary tract. It is also prescribed to prevent infection after animal or human bites and before surgical procedures.

This medicine may be given before or after meals, but giving it with food improves absorption and reduces the chances of stomach upset. Dissolve the tablet in a glass of water before giving it to your child. The exact dose and duration depend on the severity and type of infection. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the dose, repeat the same dose. Do not double the dose if it is almost time for the next scheduled one.

Oratil 125mg Tablet DT is generally well tolerated, but some children may experience temporary side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, mild allergy, or transient increases in liver enzymes. These usually resolve as the body adapts to the medicine. If side effects persist or worsen, consult the doctor.

Inform the doctor about your child’s complete medical history, especially any allergies, liver or kidney problems, heart conditions, blood disorders, airway obstruction, lung anomalies, or gastrointestinal issues, so that the treatment plan can be tailored accordingly.

Uses:

  • Treatment of bacterial infections in children

Common Side Effects:

  • Nausea

  • Vomiting

  • Abdominal pain

  • Diarrhea

  • Allergy

  • Increased liver enzymes

How it works:
Oratil 125mg Tablet DT belongs to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics. It works by preventing bacteria from forming their protective cell wall, which is essential for their survival. This action stops bacterial growth and prevents the infection from spreading.

Safety Advice:

  • Kidney: Use with caution in children with kidney disease; dose adjustment may be required.

  • Liver: Safe if prescribed, but consult a doctor in cases of severe liver disease.
