Description

RabEsec LS Capsule is a combination medicine manufactured by Cipla Ltd. It is formulated with two active ingredients – Rabeprazole (20mg), a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), and Levosulpiride (75mg), a prokinetic agent belonging to the substituted benzamide class. This dual-action formula makes it highly effective in treating acid-related gastrointestinal disorders where both acid suppression and improved stomach motility are required.

• Rabeprazole acts by irreversibly blocking the H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) in the stomach lining. This results in a marked reduction in stomach acid secretion, providing long-lasting relief from acidity, heartburn, and acid reflux. By lowering gastric acid levels, it also allows the stomach and esophagus to heal from ulcers and erosions caused by excess acid.

• Levosulpiride is a prokinetic agent that works by enhancing gastrointestinal motility and increasing the release of acetylcholine. It stimulates the movement of the stomach and intestines, ensuring faster emptying of food and reducing symptoms like bloating, indigestion, nausea, and fullness after meals. In addition, Levosulpiride has mild antiemetic properties that help prevent vomiting and regurgitation related to reflux.
