CIPDAPLA 5

CIPDAPLA 5 Tablet contains Dapagliflozin Propanediol Monohydrate 5mg per tablet and is a prescription medicine primarily used for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Mechanism of Action

Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It acts by blocking the SGLT2 protein in the kidneys, thereby preventing the reabsorption of glucose from the urine back into the bloodstream. This results in the excretion of excess glucose through urine, lowering blood sugar levels independently of insulin action.

CIPVILDIN 50 TABS

CIPVILDIN 50 Tablet contains Vildagliptin IP 50mg as its active ingredient and is manufactured by Cipla Ltd. Vildagliptin is an oral anti-diabetic medication classified as a DPP-4 inhibitor (dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor). It is prescribed for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, especially in cases where diet, exercise, and other single-agent therapies do not provide adequate blood sugar control.

Vildagliptin works by enhancing levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP) in the body. These hormones increase glucose-dependent insulin release from the pancreas and decrease the secretion of glucagon, a hormone that raises blood sugar. As a result, vildagliptin supports better glycemic control by both boosting insulin production during high blood sugar and suppressing excess glucose release from the liver.

Patients may be prescribed CIPVILDIN 50 Tablet as monotherapy or in combination with other anti-diabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin, as directed by the treating physician. It is important to take this medicine at the same time every day, and dosage must be strictly determined by your healthcare provider. Most common side effects include headache, dizziness, upper respiratory tract infections, nausea, and rarely, mild hypoglycemia—especially when combined with other anti-diabetic medicines.

CIPVILDIN 50 Tablet is not recommended for patients with Type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or those with severe liver or kidney impairment. Before starting this medicine, discuss your complete medical history—including all medicines and supplements—with your doctor. Regular monitoring of blood sugar and periodic assessment of kidney and liver function are advised for individuals on vildagliptin.

Take CIPVILDIN 50 Tablet exactly as prescribed and continue to follow your diabetes management plan including diet, exercise, and routine laboratory checkups for best results.

CIPVILDIN-M TABS 50/1000

CIPVILDIN-M 50/1000 Tablet is a combination oral anti-diabetic medicine produced by Cipla Ltd, formulated for the effective management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Each tablet contains two proven ingredients—Vildagliptin (50mg), a DPP-4 inhibitor, and Metformin Hydrochloride (1000mg), a biguanide. This dual-action therapy helps achieve improved blood sugar control, especially in patients whose diabetes is not managed adequately with diet, exercise, or monotherapy.

Vildagliptin works by enhancing the activity of incretin hormones, which increase glucose-dependent insulin release and suppress glucagon secretion, resulting in better regulation of blood sugar after meals. Metformin complements this action by decreasing glucose production in the liver, improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, and slowing down the absorption of glucose from the intestines. Together, they provide more comprehensive control over fasting and post-meal (postprandial) glucose levels.

CIPVILDIN-M 50/1000 is usually taken once or twice daily with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects associated with metformin. Dosage must always be individualized as directed by your treating physician. The combination is suitable for adults with Type 2 diabetes, either as initial therapy or when monotherapy fails to achieve target glycemic levels.

Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort (from metformin), headache, dizziness, upper respiratory tract symptoms, and rarely mild hypoglycemia (particularly if combined with other diabetes drugs or when meals are skipped). It is generally well-tolerated but should be avoided in patients with Type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, and those with significant kidney or liver impairment. Alcohol should be avoided, and routine kidney and liver function tests are advised during therapy.

CIPVILDIN-M 50/1000 Tablets should be taken exactly as prescribed, alongside a comprehensive diabetes management plan including healthy diet, regular exercise, and routine monitoring. Always seek your physician’s advice before starting or stopping any diabetes medication.

CIPVILDIN-M TABS 50/500

CIPVILDIN-M 50/500 Tablet is a combination oral medication produced by Cipla Ltd for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Each tablet contains Vildagliptin 50mg, a DPP-4 inhibitor, and Metformin Hydrochloride IP 500mg, a well-established biguanide anti-diabetic agent.

Vildagliptin helps regulate blood sugar by increasing the levels and activity of incretin hormones, which stimulate glucose-dependent insulin release from the pancreas and suppress the hormone glucagon, thereby preventing excessive glucose production in the liver. Metformin complements these effects by reducing hepatic glucose production, enhancing insulin sensitivity in muscle tissues, and decreasing glucose absorption from the gut. Together, these actions lead to better control of both fasting and postprandial (after meal) blood sugar.

This combination is usually prescribed for adults with Type 2 diabetes when diet, exercise, or monotherapy do not adequately control blood sugar levels. The lower metformin dose (500mg) may be preferred for individuals new to metformin or those sensitive to gastrointestinal side effects.

Typical side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort (from metformin), headache, dizziness, mild hypoglycemia (especially with other diabetes medicines or missed meals), and upper respiratory symptoms. Severe kidney impairment, liver dysfunction, and Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis are contraindications for use. Regular kidney and liver
function monitoring, as well as routine blood sugar checks, are recommended during therapy.

CIPVILDIN-M 50/500 Tablets should be taken exactly as directed by your physician, preferably with meals to minimize stomach upset. Adherence to diet, exercise, and regular check-ups is essential for optimal diabetes management with this therapy. Always consult your healthcare provider before making any changes to your diabetes regimen.
